How your gift works

From a gift to a warp line

Support reaches apprentices as approved expenses: booth fees paid, yarn bought, a bus seat booked, a clinic appointment covered. Here is the path it takes.

01 / Give

You give

Monthly or one time. Recurring gifts are the most useful, because studio seasons are planned months ahead.

02 / Equip

We equip

Yarn, loom parts, dyes, local transport, mentoring, and clinic visits through our partner studios in Vermont.

03 / Create

They create

Apprentices train, exhibit, and sell. Several have gone on to teach and lead guild programs of their own.

Where the money goes

Honest about the money

100% of designated donations received by Northloom fund approved expenses for the selected apprentice, guild, program, or project. General donations that are not designated to a specific apprentice or program help cover operating costs and other areas of greatest need.

What we run

The programs

Active

Apprentice support

Materials, medical care, nutrition stipends, diagnostics, recovery, and exhibition costs for individual weavers.

Active

Youth and community

After-school loom labs, natural dye sessions, leadership circles, and community weave days across the Green Mountains.

Active

Guilds and exhibitions

Travel, booth fees, uniforms, and coaching so guild teams can reach shows beyond Vermont.

Active

Visitor loom sessions

Artisans who stayed

The roster runs the programs

Northloom is led in large part by the people it set out to support. Three of them:

  • Mara Ellison moved from apprentice to studio director and dye-lab operator.
  • Jonah Reed was a Class A fellow and now works on staff as Artisan Relations Manager.
  • Priya Holt was a Class B fellow and now hosts visitor loom tours alongside programs.

Weave With Us

Weave Vermont with the locals

Guided loom sessions and dye walks through the Green Mountains and Northeast Kingdom, hosted by our own artisans. Booking one supports the roster and helps cover the operating costs behind it.

Give monthly

Back an apprentice every month

A recurring gift lets us plan a season instead of reacting to it. Change or cancel at any time. One-time gifts are just as valuable and support approved charitable expenses based on the purpose you select.
